Top News: STX OSV standardises on AVEVA Marine for all engineering and 3D design [Mar 2012]
AVEVA(LSE:AVV), today announced STX OSV has standardised its engineering and 3D design work on AVEVA Marine and has purchased more than 100 additional software licenses. The technology, which STX OSV has selected over Tribon and a competitive solution, will be implemented globally across ten shipyards.
“We are pleased to confirm our first project’s critical path in the design process was reduced by 30%", added Magne Bakke, Chief Operating Officer, STX OSV AS.

Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions has received a landmark order to supply inert gas generator systems for five LNG carriers under construction in South Korea.
Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions’ South Korean office will fulfil the orders for five LNG newbuildings at Hyundai Heavy Industry (HHI) for Greek owner Dynagas, delivering Nitrogen (N2) generator systems of 2 x 150 nominal cubic meter per hour @ 97%.

Maritime News: DNV establishes Deepwater Technology Centre in Singapore [Jan, 2012]
DNV has launched a Deepwater Technology Centre (DTC) in Singapore.
The aim is to serve the oil and gas industry in the whole Asia Pacific region and to become a sizeable and complete competence centre for deepwater oil and gas developments. “We will capitalize on DNV’s 40 years of experience in offshore and deepwater, and on the leading position of our well established deepwater centres in Houston, Oslo and Rio de Janeiro,” said DNV’s COO Remi Eriksen at the opening ceremony in Singapore.
